Standardized Testing
Testing Policy Change:
​
New Hope Academy's testing policy has changed.
Testing is no longer required but is strongly suggested.
Students may choose to test in any year, grades 3-12.
​
​
All high school students should have one test one file before graduation. Any of the following qualify:

Iowa
-
Woodcock-Johnson
-
Private testing option - contact NHAT.​

Suggested Reasons for Testing:

Parents gain a picture of the student's academic progress.

Students become familiar with testing situations.
-
NHAT Staff is able to discuss test results with the parent.

NHAT Staff is available to make curriculum change suggestions.

Testing give legitimacy to student success.

Test scores are private and are only for the parent's access. The scores are placed in the student's file unless the parent releases them elsewhere.

College Entrance Tests:
High School students may take the ACT or SAT for college entrance and scholarship applications.
